المستخلص

اعتمدت هذه الدراسة اعتمادًا كليًا علي الوثائق البردية اليونانية التي ترجع إلى العصرين اليوناني والروماني في مصر، وذلك لاستقاء المعلومات الخاصة ومعرفة الظروف المحيطة بأحد أنواع الأراضي وهو "الأرض الجافة" χέρσος، في محاولة منها لتغطية الجوانب المختلفة لهذه النوعية من الأراضي، من حيث تعريفها والعوامل المؤدية لبوارها أو جفافها، وكذلك معرفة أهم مميزات هذه الأرض، وكيفية الاستفادة منها، بل وعلاقتها بقيم الإيجارات السائدة، والإعفاء الضريبي المفروض على أنواع الأراضي الأخرى في هذه الفترة. .
