Publication Ethics

About publication ethics in the Bulletin of the Center for Papyrus Studies and Inscriptions

1- Refereeing is confidential, and the researcher may not know the referees or obtain a statement about them.

2- What is submitted for publication must not have been previously published under any name, and must be new in the field of papyrus, inscriptions and ancient studies related to them such as language, literature, history, archeology, religion and currency.

3- The researcher may not re-publish the research except after obtaining the approval of the center’s management or after five years have passed since its printing and publication in the Center’s bulletin. If the researcher fails to do so, he or she shall be stopped from publishing in the bulletin for a period of no less than two years, and the publication fees shall be doubled for him/her when he or she resubmits after that for publication in the bulletin.

4- The bulletin is not responsible for the opinions or quotes contained in the published research. Further, the researcher has the legal responsibility to obtain permission to use scientific material such papyri, inscriptions, old currency, or any other archaeological material to be printed. This also includes photocopies of previously published articles.

5- Quotations should not be used without mentioning their source or added in a way that violates the copyrights of those who are quoted.

6- The scientific methodology of writing the research should be followed as described in the publishing rules.

7- The researcher should commit to make all the corrections whether related to the language or not just as recommended by the referees.

Peer Reviewing:

The researcher submits the first copy of their research before June 31 of each year in order to be published in the issue issued in the same year. If the research topic conforms to the directions and specializations of the bulletin and the scientific and academic level of the bulletin, it will be sent to two referees to decide the eligibility of its publication .After making the necessary corrections, if any - the research is ready for publication in December of each year.
