Christ and Christianity in the Talmud A Descriptive Analytical Study of the Digital Edition of The Talmud Machon Mamre

Abstract

There are several passages in the Talmud which are believed by some scholars to be references to Jesus. The name used in the Talmud is Yeshu.
In some editions, those references are missing by their removal in the 13th century by the Christian censors or by Jews who feared reprisals. In 1580-1578, Catholic authorities started the first Christian censorship of the Talmud from the Talmoud blasphemous references to Jesus and his mother Mary. However,….the Talmud. The study discusses the image of Jesus and Christianity based on the online edition of Talmud available on the Mamry website 2002 AD. However, most modern editions published since the early 20th century has restored most of the references. In this paper, I'll discuss the image of Jesus and Christianity in the Talmud, and I'll rely in my study on the online edition of Talmud on the Mamry website2002 AD.
